I Broke 800 Total Solved. LFGGGGGG!

LeetCode Milestone

Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just crossed the 800 total solved problems mark on LeetCode! 🎉 This is an exciting milestone for me, especially since I broke the 700 barrier just a few weeks ago.

Progress Update

In my journey to 800, I’ve tackled:

  • 33 Easy Problems
  • 66 Medium Problems
  • 1 Hard Problem

I feel pretty good about my easy-medium split for this past set of 100 problems, although I have to admit that hard problems still pose quite a challenge for me. Each problem I solve teaches me something new, and I’m continuously working to improve my skills.

The Balancing Act of Life and LeetCode

As the school year approaches, I’m aware that my time for solving problems may diminish. With classes, studying, and job applications looming, I’m determined to maintain a consistent routine with LeetCode. I’m looking to secure a position in either finance or computer science, which adds an extra layer of motivation to my practice.

Being a finance major at Wharton, I often find myself in discussions with my computer science friends about why I devote time to LeetCode. Their reactions range from confusion to amusement, but for me, it’s simple: I genuinely enjoy it! The thrill of solving intellectually demanding problems far outweighs the monotony I sometimes feel with finance-related topics like corporate valuation or financial derivatives.

LeetCode all the way! WOOT WOOT!!!

What’s Next?

Having crossed the 800 milestone, I’m setting my sights on the next goals:

  • Break 900 Total Solved: This is my immediate target, and I’m excited to push through the next set of problems.
  • Grind Out Dynamic Programming (DP) Problems: I know DP can be tricky, but I’m eager to master it.
  • Tackle Graph Problems: These are essential for a well-rounded skill set in problem-solving.
  • Continue Competing in Contests: I aim to raise my rating and challenge myself against other coders.

Community Feedback

The LeetCode community is vibrant and full of diverse opinions. I’ve received some interesting comments on my progress:

  • “Congrats but your Easy and Medium balance is waayyyy off for 800."

    • This comment made me reflect on my problem-solving strategy. While it’s important to challenge myself, I also believe that grasping the fundamentals through easier problems is crucial for building a strong foundation.
  • “36 attempting” I don’t hope there’s any easy ones in that stack.

    • This made me laugh! I assure you, I’m mixing it up, but it’s always a good reminder to ensure I’m challenging myself appropriately.
  • “Too many easies. Are you really learning?"

    • This highlights an essential aspect of skill development. I recognize the importance of balancing easier problems with more challenging ones to ensure I’m not just going through the motions.

Conclusion

As I celebrate this milestone, I am grateful for the journey thus far and the community that supports me. Each problem is an opportunity to learn, grow, and refine my skills. Here’s to more challenges, more problem-solving, and, hopefully, more milestones to come!

Thanks for joining me on this journey. Let’s keep pushing toward our goals together!

Stay tuned for updates as I continue to grind through problems and aim for 900!

Happy coding! 🚀
